About
A home for original paintings — and the people who collect them.
JooZanzibar Art Gallery brings original paintings to collectors in a simple, personal way. Every work in the collection is unique, photographed and described with care, so you can choose with confidence.
Today, JooZanzibar Art Gallery continues to grow, connecting Zanzibar with art lovers around the world while remaining true to its roots: handmade art, created with passion and purpose.
The artist
At the heart of the studio is Jonathan, the main artist and creative force behind JooZanzibar Art Gallery. With years of experience as a self-taught artist, Jonathan has developed his own distinctive approach to contemporary African art.
For him, painting is not simply a profession — it is a way of life, a form of expression, and a way to create something meaningful for people to carry into their homes and lives.
Every piece is created by hand, with time, patience and personal attention.
Our roots
JooZanzibar Art Gallery is rooted in Zanzibar — its colours, its light, and its long tradition of craft. Each painting carries something of the island with it, whether it travels across town or across the world.
Beyond the gallery wall, we share news, exhibitions and stories from the art community, and we welcome commissions for pieces made just for you.
